John W. Elling, Ph.D., MBA

Dr. Elling co-founded BioReason in January 1998. BioReason is a midsize biotech informatics company, located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, developing data mining technology for high throughput screening data interpretation. Dr. Elling served as President and COO of BioReason from the formation and became Executive Vice President of Business Development and Technology Discovery in 1999. Since its inception, BioReason has grown to 30+ employees and is successfully marketing its data mining and computational intelligence technology. At BioReason, Dr. Elling played an early principal role in securing corporate funding as well as a principal role in the sales and marketing effort, presenting BioReason's technology and evaluating potential customers' needs. Dr. Elling moved into a consulting role at BioReason in order to pursue the Cytoprint startup. In addition to his business startup experience with BioReason, Dr. Elling contributes to Cytoprint one of the core patent applications that describe the Cytoprint technical and business methods.
